2018 Audi A1 petrol reversing switch

I have a manual 2018 Audi a1 with factory fitted reversing sensors. Sensors no longer beep when in reverse and reversing lights don’t come on. I’ve now been told it could the the reversing switch location either around or in the gearbox but I’ve no clue what I’m looking for
Any help or guidance to locate where this is and how I would go about changing it myself so I don’t have to spend an arm and a leg with a mechanic doing it would be massively appreciated.
Any tips would also be accepted thank you
