Mk7.5 GTi Service Question

Am looking to buy a Mk7.5 GTi. Car is Jan 2019 DSG with 33k miles on the clock. Question is, what 'routine' servicing should I expect the car to have had up until now? And is the 4 year service a major one? When should the spark plugs be changed?

If you have a PP model, remember when you get the PP diff fluid changed to get the filter taken out and cleaned, main dealers don’t usually bother so might want to use an indie.

40k miles will probably need a DSG fluid change.

It wont, the DQ381 in the 7.5 is an 80k interval.

Thanks for the replies. So from what I can see, spark plugs are at 6 years or 80k miles, which seems too long to me as I always thought it was at 4 years to change them. I cannot find out conclusively on any internet search or looking on the VW website.

I think 40k is plenty for any automatic gearbox, dsg or torque converter type. VW won't care if it fails at 80k because it will likely be out of warranty by then.
Oil is cheaper than metal, I'd have it changed.

I agree, which is why I suggested it. There’s always a smartarse though! I’ve had 6 or 7 DSGs now and always serviced every 40k. They are noticeably smoother after a service and I’ve never had one break on me.

How am I a "smart arse"? That is the schedule for the box. If you choose to service more often then good for you and theres no harm if you want to, but thats not the official schedule and not strictly neccessary. I could service my Golf every 18k on longlife based on my mileage and usage but I have set to every 10k because I prefer regular oil changes. Doesn't change the fact 18k is the correct schedule.

I'd service the DSG at 40k.

Didn't BMW used to say their gearboxes were sealed for life? Or something like that?

Like above posters says, VW wont care once you're out of warranty.
