Hi all, looking for some advice on my Audi A6 2.0 TDi Ultra S-Line.

It has 150k miles on it, but is in pretty good nick. Recent service picked up on split bushes on both front wishbones and it knocks when turning in either direction.

So, that needs sorting and a geo afterwards. At the same time, I'm not really happy with the ride - it's way too harsh for a family car.

I've read that the SE suspension set up is noticeably less harsh. Am I right in thinking that I could just swap the springs and dampers for a new set of SE versions and that will bring the ride pretty close to the SE version?

I'm looking to keep the car for a few years and I can see the parts on line for not a lot of money, so seemed like it might be a good solution?

Seems like a sensible plan.

Get a 4-wheel alignment afterwards, as changing the ride height will affect things slightly.

I’d start by fitting the smallest diameter wheels that you can

It's already on 18s. Previous c6 A6 s line was on 19s and had a more compliant ride.

just remember the sline springs are shorter, so the car will sit up high compared to before and might look odd.
