Audi A1 1.4 TSI S-tronic Gearbox Information
Discussion
I have potentially found a privately advertised, low mileage A1 1.4 TSI with 122hp for the wife. The car is 2011, on 42k miles and has the S-Tronic box. My questions:
1) Is this box generally reliable or are some of the horror stories of this box failing true?
2) Is this box 'sealed for life' or does it require a gearbox oil change at 38,000 miles?
Any other information about the car or box and what to look out for when viewing this model will be appreciated.

Not a box I'm familiar with, I thinking it's a dry-clutch 7 speed, but,2) Is this box 'sealed for life' or does it require a gearbox oil change at 38,000 miles?
1) You'll get horror stories about everything if you look on the internet. Small city car + dry clutch = it will wear out eventually.
2) 38k (some say 40k) I'd get it done even if a dealer says "Sealed for life" - it's not your life, or the car's life...
The handbook should tell you this for certain.
