I’ve currently got a VW Golf on lease (contract hire), originally ending July 22, extended once to Dec 22 and a second time to May 22. All very easy and done with the web form.

I have an audi q4 on order through a work scheme, it’s been subject to delays and is estimated for Apr delivery. However I’ve had no build date and it’s an edition 1 so expecting it might be delayed as Audi seem incapable of building a car with electric seats at the moment.

I think for my own piece of mind I’m going to need to extend the lease again to avoid having a period with no car. I’ll obviously call VWFS on Monday to understand my options, I think I can just go online and apply for another extension too, but keen to hear anyone else’s experiences if they’ve had to extend multiple times and how flexible VWFS have been - especially when buying another group car (albeit through a different scheme).

Had no problem with a 1 year extension (well, 2 x 6 months) on a couple of occasions but I've no idea if there's any sort of upper limit on this.

Never had a problem. You can usually request a quote for extension 6 months from the end date and can ask for another every 30 days. Prices will change so if the first quote isnt great, ask for another in 30 days. My history of quotes varies wildly!

For my S5 lease I was paying £412 a month, first 2 extension quotes were over a grand, then £422, then they offered £374 which I took. No logic to it from what I can see. I think VWFS just have a random number generator!
