hi
i have a 2012 3rd gen beetle, (no sunroof)
and the drivers side floor is soaking wet,
ive managed to sponge most of it up, but as soon as itll rain (frequent) im sure it will come back,
it had a windoning mechanism in the door, recently,
all seals and the door appear free of water and dry,
any ideas?

A generic answer i.e. non-Beetle specific, but if it's recently had work on the window winder, I suspect whoever did it, neglected to re-fit any internal membrane or left it loose.

Behind the door card, there's normally a sheet of plastic separating the card from the internals of the door, so that water can drain at the bottom of the door skin. Or maybe the door drainage holes are blocked.

Hope that helps.

Probably the metal inner door panel isn't sealing correctly.
Tell tail signs can be water collecting on the top of the lower door seal when you open it after it's been raining.

mmmi fixed quite a few mk2 golfs with the same thing the the door seemed pretty dry
i could do with a dry warm day so i can spend a bit of time looking into it
