Recently bought a 2016 Leon 1.4 ecotsi 150bhp with 60k on the clock for my wife and there is no record of the cambelt being done. I've read conflicting advice on the change interval; some sources say every 5 years regardless of mileage, some say every 120,000 miles. Would appreciate some clarification smile

If it's the same 1.5 engine as my Golf then the interval is just every 5 years.

Thanks, I find it a bit odd how it varies for different countries.

I have the same engine in the wifes Leon.

UK market seems to recommend 5 years or 60k, or thereabouts, however euro market for the same engine recommend 10 years or 120k.

I dont understand why difference.

I'll probably get the the timing belt changed later this year. The car will be 8 years and 60k by then. 3 years late for the uk market, 2 years early Europe.
