It's unacceptable - but you might have to accept it. There's no obligation to supply a courtesy car under warranty.

If the car had broken down in the UK I think the Assistance only offers a car for 2 days now. We had a breakdown with a SEAT and it was 4 days then - at first dealer said it would be 2 wks before they could look at the car but apparently they get jumped on to fix it ASAP.

It's really going to be down to the dealer, and it's not likely they'll want to tie up a courtesy car for a month, epecially on a big warranty job that they probably don't really want anyway.

`I would kick off big time.

Many moons ago, we had to have a gearbox replaced under warranty and it would not be available for six weeks, but the dealer supplied us with a car for the whole duration supplied by the manufacturer.

Although at a guess, being a VAG product these days, they have quite a few warranty claims to support, with only a certain number of loan cars in the pool.

Doesn’t seem too unreasonable from Skoda Assist themselves - I wonder just how long other Car company assist entities would give you a car for ?
Do you have any relationship with the local dealer ie only car bought new or used or one of a few ?
Either way I would be asking them that as you have given them the business can they give you a loan car post the 2 weeks.
Complaining to the IO at this stage I doubt would get you anywhere and that’s even assuming they take less than 6 weeks to get back to you !
Best of luck though.

This is very true.

The way your local dealer may be looking at it, is that why should they provide you with a courtesy car for a car that they haven't even got in their possession for repair.

VW group have a deal with Europcar for situations like this. I think you've just been speaking to someone that doesn't understand how it works.

I had a car from them for about 6 months last year, while mine was off the road.

I've also had the local dealer's "nicest" courtesy car for a couple of months now as well.

Yes, my car is a lemon.

It's a SEAT/Cupra by the way but I'm pretty sure the system is the same across the VW brands.
