New RS4 - dates?

Has anyone on here had a confirmed build / delivery date on a new RS4 yet?

Trying to plan a few finances before mine arrives, but have not heard anything from the dealer yet.

Went for Mugello blue, which is a bit darker than the one in the press shots. Was told to expect the car Oct/Nov, but from what you say it looks like thats gonna slip, as I was not at the front of the queue.

Cant bring myself (or convince the 'money man') to spend £50k, so I'm toying with buying one of these for a 'mere' £32k odd :

OK, just had it from the horses mouth. Initial production run put back to Jan/Feb 06 due to production problems.

Damn and blast - can't wait that long - gonna have to find something to replace the Noble before then.

Whilst I love my Audis' you have to get used to delays on product launches. I got one of the first B5 S4's and it was horribly late whilst my early B6 S4 was a bit 'fluid' until it arrived.

For some strange reason I've ordered the first Q7 at a local dealer. It will be interesting to see how that one goes given the official pictures are out a year before the UK launch. So delays and moving launch dates? We will see.

For those of us who buy our fast Audis' as Avants I think that the RS4 Avant will miss the interest curve - I'm focusing on the new S6 Avant instead.

I was on the phone to the dealer last week and they reckoned, last week anyway, that mine will be coming in december. But from what you are saying there is at least two pluses, that is they will be 06 cars now and they will miss most of the snow.

Did you spec the floor mats?

Erm, yeah, I specc'd the floor mats. Priced "TBC July" - so no idea on that yet.

This might sound daft, but why did you want to know about the floor mats? Got me really puzzled by that one!!

Tell me about it! The dealer said something about them being an 'exclusive' option which means it goes onto a different production line for all of the exclusive option paint interior etc. Maybe that is the reason for the excessive cost.

What other options did you go for? That is if you dont mind me asking!

Suspension is not bad at 500 quid.

Auto dimming rear view mirror, light and rain sensors, coming home,

black,black, black on the interior stuff.

Cant wait to get it. I saw it at le mans this year and the sound alone is awesome.

Yeah, know what you mean. I clocked the two on the Friday outside the museum (one in safety car trim, the other std).

Was a bit miffed when I heard of the delays, but the time will pass soon enough, I guess.

um. yeah right. i dont know anything about audi's production line but i'd be absolutely amazed if that happened. as for the cost, thats just what people will pay to have an 'exclusive' car.

Mine is guaranteed for the first build week, and I've just had a call from audi UK that it will be here first week in march, but to compensate all owners are getting a track day in lhd cars over winter.

I was told the same thing 2 days ago --- whatever happebed to December then January ???? how come they have a load of left hand drive versions but no right till March ????
