S1 ABT tune gearbox/Synchro/clutch issues
Discussion
Hi all, I have an S1 with ABT tune which I've run on the original clutch for 12 months. The gear changes in and out of second (up and down) are now noticeably more notchy/crunchy - anyone any experience of this? I did think the clutch was on it's way out but other gear changes are still quite smooth. If it is the syncro I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading the clutch whilst the gearbox is out.
(car is 18 reg and has done around 45k)
Any ideas welcome! TIA

I think the simple answer is, poor technique when driving hard has worn the synchro - if the other gears, including 1st, are smooth enough I can't see how it's a clutch problem.
Of course the wear will be exacerbated by the higher power now it's tuned, what figures is it running?
310bhp (standard ABT map) https://www.abt-sportsline.com/audi-tuning/s1#8756...Of course the wear will be exacerbated by the higher power now it's tuned, what figures is it running?
Thanks for the critique of my driving too
