2015 Beetle - water in footwell!

Hi,

Wondering if I can pick the experienced minds on here..

My wife has a right-hand drive 2015 Beetle (no sun roof). The drivers side footwell has suddenly become very wet but I can't work out where the water is coming in. The centre of the footwell is wet, however the carpet around the edges is dry... I've checked a few bits but can't see how it is getting in.

Assuming it is rainwater, any ideas of where I should be looking?
