VAQ Differential Service Interval. Mk7.5 Golf GTi

Hello all.

Couple of questions.

1. What is the service schedule for the VAQ dif. on 2019 Golf GTi Performance?

2. If it wasn't done on schedule, is this an item which should have been picked up on VW Approved Used 142 point check?

Every 3 years / 30,000 miles

If you drive it really hard or track it, might be worth getting it done more often. Also don’t just change the fluid, get the filter cleaned out aswell.

By ‘VW Approved Used 142 point check’ if you mean the check they do on a used car when the apprentice goes round and kicks the tyres, then highly unlikely.

Most main dealers don’t even know what the service is when you call to book it in

Bought my Golf from VW at around 36 months old, booked in for its 40k service today, asked about the digital history and VAQ differential service and they had no idea what I was talking about.

More concerned about messing up my 2 year warranty if the oil change was missed by 1 year/8000 miles. I've added the service now to my major service booking.

I've asked for their comment regarding missing it but no one called me back.
