2010ish Audi S3

Thinking about chopping in my 2006 325i and one of the options is an S3 from around 2010. Anyone owned one and got any experience of running costs, reliability and the overall ownership experience?

I owned a DSG model from 2011-13, and there’s a review in my Garage / profile. I liked it a lot, though it was a new car and you might be looking for experience of older cars.

The later 8V model is a big upgrade if you can afford it, but I was very happy with my 3x 8P models. One of these - a mere 2.0T A3 - was 12 years old when I had it as a stop gap car. Again, I liked it a lot and found it to drive really well for an older car, but it wasn’t niggle-free.

Her in doors had a 2010 manual S3 from new for 4 years and had no issues in that time. My only comments would be that the ride is firm and economy poor, if I nursed it I struggled to get 30 mpg.

Rapid when it was on boost though!
