SQ2 - known issues?

The OH has had a Q2 for a couple of years which has been pretty much faultless. Wanting something a bit quicker she’s looking at an SQ2 next.

These seem to be quite cheap in comparison with other smaller SUVs - are they just not well liked or are there any common issues with these?

Are the effectively a Golf R underneath?

I had one for a year ( brand new and wanted a stop gap before my new daily car arrived ) and it was perfect for this.
Did nothing to it other than fill with petrol.
Wasn’t necessarily the most fun to drive but neither was it that bad and tbh it probably would suffice as an only car.
Build quality excellent - no rattles.

Exactly as per 8V S3.

Late enough that thermostat leaks seem to be sorted, but Haldex pump can still fail if not carefully serviced.

Standard spec is crap, few around with good options.
