Audi A4 B9 - Jacking point and rubber underseal
Discussion
Hello,
I planned to jack the offside to remove the front wheel, and when I went to position the jack I noticed the the jacking point has soft rubber under-seal on it that will split if a jack is fitted. There is no jack with the car and I was going to use a trolley jack… but stopped short now to get a lifting puck.
From what I can see though, even with a grooved puck the weight and pressure point will split the underseal/rubber, is this normal? Or are there better lifting points to use that won’t damage the underside of the car?
Cheers.

Yes, that's where the lift point is and shows it in the owners manual, there is also a mark on the cill. At that this lift point on the seam, the underseal is very soft, almost like its a boot on the floor pan/seam, if that makes sense. There is no jack with the car so I need a lifting puck with a very deep groove so that it doesn't cut into the underseal. Or are there other lift points on the car chassis somewhere?
My B9 S4 had the same issue with the underseal actually coming away. Audi said it must have been damaged but I’ve had the car from new and have never had this problem with any other car. I ended up putting some waxoil underseal on the area affected to protect it through winter though need to check it from time to time.
