Hello! Any owners of the current gen A4 Avant? Some reasonable value around given market conditions so been spying up on S Line models - just the 2.0 diesel and petrol nothing fancy for a daily, car seat in the back, big pram in the boot....
Keen to hear any owners experiences, views!

I have a '66' plate A4 Avant 2.0 TDI Quattro. Same car just pre-facelift.
Brilliant car, I have a 9 month old and the car seat / pram fits perfectly.
Recently did a 3000 miles journey to Poland and back, averaged 48mpg and extremely comfortable. That was with a roof box on top too.
I had a non quattro 150bhp version before which was equally as good and did more MPG but this car has a much higher spec and it really shows.
Anyway, fantastic cars. I have only done about 10k in ours but can't fault it. Does pretty much everything you'd want and they are very reasonable money through Drive The Deal or similar.

18MY A4 (Allroad) Avant owner.
Lovely car for daily duties and long trips. Very comfortable, low NVH levels and so far surprisingly cheap to use.
26k km in a little under 10months, 42MPG (6.7l/100km) over mixed used - daily commutes (short distance), Euro trips, Autobahn cruising (170kph+) and a lot of mountain roads driving.
I went for the 3.0 TDI, because the price gap between 2.0 and 3.0 models on the used market where I live was insignificant and the 3.0 coupled with the ZF8 gearbox provides a much smoother experience.
If budget permits look for one with electronically adjustable dampers (for a bit more body control), auto cruise control (the predictive function is super good) and the full matrix headlights. The premium B&O sound system is nice to have, it was the best from the cars I've tested - Merc C (new and old), BMW (3/4/5, 17my onwards), Volvo, etc) - but this is personal taste.

Got a 2017 2.0TFSI 252ps SLine Quattro, pretty disappointing really, not been particularly reliable just under £2k in warranty claims in under 2 years, CarPlay only works fairly well with a genuine nearly £30 Audi cable. Space is terrible in comparison to a Skoda Octavia, seating is terrible over a long distance, the pedals are offset to the right so you sit with your legs not straight to your body, fortunately ours has most optional extras ticked, so spec is good, but otherwise not a huge spec car.
If you're not worried about the badge, get a Skoda Octavia.

Had a company 3:0 205 Avant Quattro Black 2017-21. 80k and faultlessly reliable, but signed off some incredibly high routine service bills. Fabulous drive and quality, average economy of 38mpg whole life. DSG was the stand out hateful thing for me... always in wrong gear and always one second behind me.
Lovely place to sit, but boot way too small. I’m now in a 2022 privately owned Octavia vRS wagon. Go figure!
