I've just placed a deposit on a 2018 Audi S3 Cabriolet.

Having chatted to a mate, I'm now concerned it could be one of those nightmare cars that's going to get nicked. I appreciate that hot hatches are favourites (especially the 5 door variety), but should I be overly concerned about a Cabriolet S3?

I doubt it, s3s are normally stolen for the reason you mentioned, 4 doors, big boot, fast, used in smash and grab robbery

Don’t think I’ve ever heard of the convertibles being stolen, although all Audis are targets you’ll have to either live in Birmingham or somewhere else rough to really be a target for what would be a neiche vehicle

Hairdressers nick them for faster mobile rounds.

Only joking, I drive a Boxster and mini cab so hear all the jokes.

I promised to laugh at the first response about hairdressing - and I did wink

Glad you had a sense of humour about it. I just smile at the hair dresser comments about my cars, I often offer them a free blow dry, seems to show them I see the funny side. The mini cabriolet does feel a bit like a hairdresser car and technically my wife owns it but it is actually a great car and I enjoy driving it.
