This is my first foray into VAG ownership (I had a proper Skoda back in the day...) and we're looking at going all in for both cars!

Looking at the 150bhp TDI unit in a 2010-2015ish Alhambra/Sharan and the 1.8tfsi in a Yeti. Do they have issues, is there anything to look out for???

(Plus, ultimately I suspect, how well do they remap? wink)

Diesel fairly good; no EGR lasts for ever and you're looking at cars in the age range they can need replacement.

1.8T chain tensioner can go, but I don't know off the top of my head the age range affected. Later ones are fine.

Thanks. Am I right in thinking the DSG box from this era can be a bit iffy?

I think you'll find the DSG woes are from the early 7 speed dry clutch box's on the smaller engines.
And the 1.8 petrol can have problems with sludging (?)

Have a look at Biskoda, lots of info on there.
