Golf GTI (150 BHP) "Chipped" to210bhp question/adv

My first post on this site and I was wondering if anyone could list or has experience of "chiping" a golf 1.8t (S reg 98). I have called the above company and they have said they could increase my BHP from 150 to 210 by using 1 chip . This seems like an awful lot to me, will the rest of the car handle it?? also is this a good price £350 + VAT?

hi,before i got my V6 4 Motion i had an Audi A3 1.8T which is basiclly the same engine as in the Golf Gti Turbo, the highest power increase i could find was to 190BHP so 210 may be a bit optimistic, the reason for a quite big power increase is its a turbo charged car the gains are always much higher as the chip can make the turbo run better so i belive
