Audi Connect - ain't what it used to be . Costs the same

Running a 2016 A6 with what was I believe the top range MMI system.
It firstly came with the Audi Connect package bundled as I bought it second hand from an Audi Dealer. He extended it a year for me.
It has far less functionality than ever costs the same.
For what it is worth I have a sim card in the car I pay for.

The MyAudi App suggest I could upgrade with a "Retrofit solution for Audi smartphone interface" giving Airplay etc - but its not clear on the compatability with my car - it would in theory provide some future proofing as the Audi Connect system seems to be hived off / slow death..



Anyone manage to get Audi to capitulate on the st AudiConnect?

Personally, I wouldn't pay actual money for Audi Connect, but having the Android Autio \ Carplay interface is useful.

Thanks. - thats what I feel too - is it available for a) my car, b) non main dealer - are the two questions I am hunting for now.

I imagine either HazzyDayz (St Albans) or Sat Nav Systems (Surbiton) might be able to answer your query pretty quickly.

I've not used either but the latter was started by a former VW Service guy,

Locals are saying it needs to be done with an Audi generated code? they can't do it.
Off to google to see if anyone has this at all ?

The build date of the car will determine whether it can be installed with the Audi pack, or needs to be done through the back door.

As it happens I am talking to that co. recommended by yourself ^^^, and a few others.

Seems some offer to do it remotely / send out the SD card and follow instructions. The Above will come out ( £20 ) install. Airplay (£100) and update maps (£80)

Seems to be a a less risky process. I have mad some cursory checks and I think my car is good for it -
Unsurprisingly, despite requesting the upgrade / contact via the MyAudi app (twice) and calling (twice) Audi have not come back to me with a solution.
