A8 as a replacement for Volvo

My Volvo V60 sadly snapped a cam belt last week so I have a requirement for a largish replacement car. I don't really need an estate (although that was really useful during some recently completed house DIY). I've seen a very nice 3.0 diesel A8 2011 with <90k miles which is reasonable local to me so no need for a mega trip to view. I'm reasonable handy with the spanners having owned 6 TVR's and a Range Rover L322 so I will be undertaking any servicing requirements and maintenance.

I'm guessing that checking all the electrics work (MMI?) and the any unusual engine \ gearbox noises is the order of the day but is there anything specific that I need to look out for and any info on day to day running would be much appreciated.
