Hi, my father's 'gardening car', a 2004 Passat tdi estate has failed its MOT on a crusty rear beam axle.

I've tried ebay and breakerlink for a used replacement (cheaper to buy and fit apparently?) but with no luck.

Are there any VW specialist breakers or parts suppliers out there please?

Cheers. It's looking like our only option but apparently a new beam takes longer to fit and therefore more cost. He might just have to bite the bullet though as the rest of the car is too good to scrap imo.

Most will be in a similar condition really so it may prove difficult to find one.
They are fairly common though so one will pop up eventually.

I used Steven's VW dismantlers a fair bit back in the day. Been around donkeys and always used to be very well stocked (and helpful).
