2012 Ibiza- cruise control switches off

The cruise control switches off on my 2012 Ibiza. This is randomly and if I use the indicator.
I think it is just a worn switch or connection.
I also know that the switchgear is a 'ring', including both stalks and functions. Therefore it is pricey to buy and more challenging to change - as the steering wheel and airbag removed and re-fitted. I have a quote of 3+ hours labour, so £225 labour minimum.
Frustratingly on previous cars each stalk switch is replaceable without removing steering wheel....
Any thoughts - including how DIY'able it is, particularly in light of airbag....
