2017 B9 Audi S5 - What to do first?
Discussion
I'm taking delivery of one this week and cannot wait. It's a Sportback with great spec.
Wonder if anyone has any tips on things to do first - Particularly I would like to do a little bit of coding, I've seen Carista and OBDeleven mentioned. Any experience of these?
Main things I want is Audible lock/unlock and disable comfort access - Both for security / knowing I locked it. It has the advanced comfort keys option which ironically I would pay to remove not add!
Any little interior styling touches worthwhile? Don't plan on tuning it and it's under Audi Warranty for a year so don't want to do anything that might mess with that.

First of all congrats! I had 4 B9 S5's - 2 coupes, a SB and a soft top - and rate them highly. I moved away to BMW due to them moving the S to diesel but do regret not buying my last one after the lease. I would recommend the Audi-Sport forum for a good resource on potential mods etc

I left my first 3 standard but my last one was a daytona grey coupe with a hefty spec. I added the OEM dark rear lights, a full non res Miltek exhaust system, TDI tuning box, some S5 puddle lights and right near the end I found some carbon trim to replace the silver stuff inside.
After your warranty is up I would recommend going revo stage 2 - Petrol Ped did a video on the upgrade and the S4 he drove had the Miltek exhaust on.

Here is a pic of my last one from the back you can see the lenses and the Miltek

Cracking will join.
Petrol Teds sounds great - But, I don’t want to make the cold start any louder - already a little conscious of it. If I get it remapped after the warranty I’ll see if it can be coded out. Otherwise I’ve seen aftermarket valve controllers that could be worth a look.
Do they have the Audi puddle lights as standard? Spec on mine seems pretty high, it has:
In addition to the standard specification of the S5 Sportback, this car boasts of several optional extras including:
Comfort & Sound Pack
- Hill Hold Assist
- Rearview Camera
- Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System
- Advanced Key
Lights & Vision Pack
- Matrix LED Headlights
- Extended Interior LED Lighting
- Automatic Headlight Adjustment
- LED Rear Combination Lamps
- Headlight Washers
Red Brake Calipers
Driver Memory Seat
Carbon Atlas Inlays
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Audi Virtual Cockpit
Folding/Heated/Dimming/Memory/Electric Mirrors
Privacy Glass

Audible lock is just annoying for everyone. Press lock and you’ll know it’s locked; watch while you press and you’ll be certain.Wonder if anyone has any tips on things to do first - Particularly I would like to do a little bit of coding, I've seen Carista and OBDeleven mentioned. Really nice specification.
Take the money you would have spent on trinkets and book a nice hotel in the Highlands or perhaps north Wales. Spend a couple of days driving it and bonding with the car; figure out if there's actually anything worth changing before you do.
...and it will be more fun than an alarm beep that sounds like it's from 1993.

Got the car today and over the moon with it.
Have disabled comfort access through the MMI and yeah, mirrors fold on lock so easy to see it’s locked. Was more concerned about the comfort access as didn’t know how it worked.
Excellent fun so far - averaging 24mpg which is a bit less than was getting from the 2.1d it replaced !
Ambient lighting and Quattro projectors on all 4 doors looks ace in the night.

I have had my B9 S5 convertible for 2 weeks tomorrow, similar spec to yours but also has the lane assistance and massage seats, which I’m liking a lot, so far 22 mpg over the 900 miles I have done.
Going to Cornwall from West Yorkshire this week hoping at a steady pace I see a bit better mpg.

I’ve done almost 1000 miles now too. 23-25mpg so far. Have done two decent runs and got 33 on those. Im running super unleaded , can’t see a difference yet from the first tank which was regular, so might revert to 95.
My thread is here - mine has the massage seats too, it’s standard on S5.
