Not sure if this is repost, or whatever, but you can program your ac unit to allow you to have a readout of alsorts of stuff. Link here

With ac off, press the recirc button, and then the fan control up button, (not the fan speed up/down, but the one to have air blowing out by the windscreen). Then you should have C1 on the wee lcd screen. Let go of buttons, and press up until you get desired code according to the list in the link. The diagnosis tool is useful.
