Audi A6 (C6) Audio Aux
Discussion
I would really appreciate a bit of advise from any Audi beards that have found a solution to what must be a relatively common problem:
I have recently bought a 2010 A6 that has the integrated 6 CD changer and the navigation with disc update, it also has a phone cradle in the armrest absent of handset.
The phone integration is bluetooth (which is a bit clunky) but no method of plugging or syncing a phone for music.
In the cubby under the armrest there's a hole that may have a USB port in other cars but not in mine.
Speaking to someone who had an A4 of this vintage which didn't have the CD changer and they had a VAG lead that plugged into a hole in the glovebox and served as the AUX in. Presumably the CD changer is hogging this hole.
Do I therefore need to junk the changer (no real issue) or hotwire the phone cradle or is there another option?
Many thanks in advance.

Which head unit do you have?
The fittings in the rear may give you the chance to add some additional inputs. A replacement head unit is a relatively easy fit and would give you any input you could want.
It doesn’t have a head unit really, it’s the the multi function screen at the top of the dash and the knob is on the transmission tunnel.The fittings in the rear may give you the chance to add some additional inputs. Does it have the 'Audi Music Interface' (AMI) somewhere in the glove box?
It's a rectangular plug into which you can connect USB, ipod, aux etc. like this;
Many Audi/VW cars have one including my S4 and even my Son's 2010 Golf (though under the centre arm rest) then all you need is the cable, under a fiver on ebay etc.
