2017 Audi B9 A4 TDI - Ad Blue Pump Replacement Cost Shock
Discussion
I have recently had a yellow engine management light on my A4 appear, but it still drives fine. The car has been in for a scheduled service with a local VW/Audi specialist who say that this is because the Ad Blue pump is not working. They say the pump, tank and control unilt comes as a single unit and the cost to fit this is £1875!
I generally trust the garage more than the local Audi dealer, but I am struggling to digest that the car needs nearly £2k spending on it for this.
Has anyone any insight/advice?? I filled up the Ad Blue tank last night (it was stating 800 miles left), but the yellow light was still on.
Thank you in advance

A well known issue with Merc diesels and similar costs. The pump is inside the tank on the Merc and has to be replaced as a unit. A bill for £2k plus is the norm it seems.
Not sure about Audi but Mercedes do sometimes offer goodwill towards the cost if the car has been serviced by them. Might be worth asking Audi to see if they will offer anything.

Blimey, how many miles has it done? That sounds like quite a chunk for a relatively recent car.
60k miles only. Interestingly having brimmed it with ad blue. the engine management light has now disappeared. I am hoping this has resolved it but I need to drive it on a decent run to be fully confident. Maybe I ran it too low on the ad blue?
