I have just had the nearside outer CV joint fail at the end of a track day. The existing set up has the original 80K drive shafts and CVs.

Can anyone recommend the best quality CV that I can purchase? Car is running 245BHP and 310 ftlb of torque so would rather not trust a pattern part as such.

I have always used GKN on my TVR’s and never had a problem.

If anyone knows a part number for the GKN item or recommend a similar quality part I would appreciate it.

cheers

I’d probably stick to oem or something like an SKF from Autodoc.
Complete shafts with joints are reasonable enough from someone like J&R who offer 2 year warranty on some of their stuff, may be worth trying a complete shaft first for ease of fitment and see how it lasts for you.

My son has managed to source a GKN one from Euro car parts although in his experience quite often what supplied doesn’t fit!

Hopefully it will arrive today or Monday. A none stock item.

If not I will go and look at the SKF route.

Thank you.
