MK7 Golf - Permanently turning off parking assist?
Discussion
What the point of having a tick box menu option "Automatically activate parking assist" if it automatically switches itself back on at every restart?
Is there a way of properly killing it off?
It likes to trigger at any slow moving in close proximity to objects. I'm just crawling in traffic, calm down!

Strange if that's how they work?
In which case I would imagine that it is possible to change the default using VCDS or similar?
My S4 had stop/start that always defaulted to on, could be switched off but would come back on every time the engine was started.
Trouble was that being an auto it would cut the engine out at every stop, meaning if you needed a quick 'getaway' for example from a busy 'T' junction, there was the start-up delay from releasing the brake, plus then pushing the engine hard from startup (oil not fully in circulation?) worried me so I have set it to remain in the state it was when last used and this is a huge improvement and how it should have been from the factory.
You could probably do similar with your parking?
