Audi UK S/RS 4.0tfsi Recall
Discussion
Just been reading on some S/RS Facebook Groups that Audi UK have finally accepted that there maybe problems with the oil strainer which leads to the turbos and can cause oil starvation resulting in failed turbos in some scenarios.
It's been reported that owners of such models can now book their car in for recall work which will result in a revised part being fitted. The job is quite a pricey one if you were paying yourself as the part, although cheap, is located deep in the V of the engine. Given the work carried out, I presume an oil and filter change will be included too. I've also heard that Audi are also warranting the turbos for 10 years.
So, this is good news for those with the right car!

I think they’re having problems getting the parts so they’ve been cancelling appointments and looking at rebooking later in the year.
Agreed. I had my 2016 S6 booked in for the recall work last week (scheduled for two days), but I received a call from the dealer a few days prior to advise that the parts were on factory back order and hence the appointment was cancelled. They will call me as soon as the parts are in stock...
How did it go?
Mine is booked into Audi Shrewsbury in September, earliest they could do.
Wondering if it's worth paying for a new PCV Oil Separator whilst they're in there, it'll have to come off anyway for the oil strainer so they should change it for parts costs only.
Also wondering if it's worth paying for an MMI update. My car (2016 S6 Avant) has been to Indys only after it's first service.

My S6 Avant is booked in for recall at Audi Tetbury Wednesday. They have the parts.
Keep us updated please. Edited by tenmantaylor on Monday 11th July 19:53
Mine's also booked in at Tetbury Audi, but not until next month to suit my availability.
They're my local dealer and I used them for the last service on my S6, with no cause for concern.
Curious whether they change oil and filter as part of the recall (on the basis that it's oil related) and hence how this impacts on the scheduled Oil Service.
