Audi A8 Sports Differential

I was looking for a bit of assistance, a good few years ago, I sold my brother in law my Audi A8 4.2TDI 2010. It had a lot of work done under warranty in 2013 but the diff has failed and in someway I'm getting dragged in since i have a late model A8 and they think the dealer will somehow assist.
I told him to find a breakers yard option and gave him the few references I had 0BE500043C.
It seems that this number means very little to any breakers, they just ref to the 8K0 number on an oil pump.
Does anyone know of another reference I can give him since there are lots of Diffs but it's really hard to confirm a fit.

I would call your nearest Audi dealer and ask they quote for price/availability on a complete new rear differential. That'll give you the relevant part number for the correct diff for the car.
