How does an R8 fair as a track day car ?
Discussion
Which R8 are we potentially discussing? Or maybe at what sort of money is a better question?
Even a Plus is more road-car biased than a GT4.
I've had a MK1 V8 on track (R Tronic) that we put R888s on for the day (to avoid ruining a new set of road tyres) that was a good giggle. Carried so much speed around Combe I'd boiled the brake fluid by late-morning and ended up alternating between that and the S3 'support car' we took down. The firmer setting for the dampers that you'd never really use on the road came good, and combined with proper tyres meant its limits were far higher than my own.
