Morning.
I just purchased a 64 plate RS6 last week. The garage stated there was 55% brake wear left in the lads. The discs seem in very good condition. Can anyone offer some advice as to When's the best time to change these pads... As a mate reckoned I should do them ASAP to prolong the life of the discs?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

55% brake pad life left is plenty. Nobody can really advise you how long that will last as it depends on your driving style and how many miles you do.

Just keep an eye on them and try to have a look at the inner pads once in a while too.

The front discs last >30k miles normally, expect to do two sets of pads in that time with road driving.

FYI there is a visible wear mark on the disc (assuming still on waveys). The inner and outer most "drill" marks are wear dots drilled to the same depth as the wear limit. When these are worn smooth the disc is worn out.
