Can't tighten the oil filler cap 2017 transporter t6

Hi all just done oil and filter on my dads van.. cant get the oil filler cap tight though unfortunately, I am presuming the cap is defective can i buy a new seal for the old one or have i got to buy a complete new cap from VW? Cheers all

Are any of the plastic lugs broken? That type normally lock in after half a turn.

As he says half a turn and locked in. Check the lugs lets hope they haven’t dropped in..,.

Hi all, all lugs are intact no damage to the filler pipe so im confused as to what the issue may be.. I've ordered a revised cap from VAG anyway should hopefully sort it, cheers
