Anyone know what ‘SAFE CP’ means? I drove the car for about 200 miles yesterday then about an hour later I drove 2 miles to the shops, when I started the car to drive home the screen said ‘SAFE CP’ and didn’t give me the mpg, distance, etc. It wasn’t in limp mode, I could drive as normal and the radio was working? The fan was blowing as if it was doing a particle burn when I stopped.

I started it up this morning and after it logged me back in as the car user it has been fine?

The car is a year old Q5 40 tdi.

"Safe Component Protection" ?

https://www.google.com/search?q=safe+cp+audi&r...

Think it needs a dealer to recode it?

It’s been fine today, done several journeys between 2 miles and 20 with no issues?

Gremlins in the electronics - Component Protection just checks various modules are correctly identified as belonging to your car. It's probably had a slightly slow bit of comms and thrown the warning. File it under 'mild annoyance' unless it makes a habit of it (a bit like the errant one touch windows on my Golf that seem to routinely need resetting!)

Thanks. I’ve done over 500 miles this week, short and long journeys and it’s been fine. Hopefully I won’t see it again!
