Can someone please help me?
I have just bought a 1999 Audi A6 2.5TDI Avant Estate which has had new brake pads fitted - but the warning light for "brake pads worn" stays on! I have had both front wheels off and disconnected both leads to the pads but the light still stays on!!! This is really doing my head in||

Perhaps the leads need to be terminated to stop them going open circuit? (just a guess, not sure how they work on this model).

Or could the warning light be telling you abot a problem with the rear brakes now?

Maybe the warning light needs resetting with some super duper Audi diagnostic tool?

Are you sure the correct pads were fitted? Some years ago I had aftermarket pads fitted by an independent and had just the same problem. I can't recall if it's the presence or absence of a circuit that does it. One other thing, though this doesn't sound like it, mine were also improperly adjusted and the disks used to heat up like hell and trigger the light.

Were they genuine pads?
