Has anyone ever had to have their rear diff replaced, and did anyone bite the bullet and get it done at Skoda?

Mine is a 2016, and a while ago noises started coming from the rear end, assumed it was wheel bearings and had them changed but the noise is still there, had the diff oil changed and was told there was metal fillings in the old oil so it definately looks like the diff is on its way out. Rang a local gearbox specialist, he said you cant rebuild them because most of the parts aren't available, he reckons the oil seals are obtainable but the bearings aren't....if thats true then it only really leaves going to Skoda or taking a risk with a used one off e-bay. Anyone one else been in a similar situation with these cars?

Try on Briskoda. I've always found them very helpful.thumbup

The rear diffs in these do make some noise (they're near identical across many different Haldex cars), most noticeably on decceleration.

Replaced one on customer's insistence and it made no difference. Is yours getting considerably worse?

Hi, just wondering if there is an update to your saga, I have the same issue with my 2016 Scout after 120,000 miles
