My van is just coming up to 76k miles and 16 years old. The first owner didn't do masses of miles as he used it to tow his dinghy, and neither do I since I walk/ride to work.

That being said 16 years is a long time for oil to last. Everything I read contradicts each other! VW say oil for life but other say change at all different mileages.

Almost time for mot and service so thought I investigate before booking. Any opinions here?

Most will specify filled for life but I still change mine, if I can identify the correct oil and it has fill and drain plugs.
I’ve not done a TT but various VAG cars and a few others that have specified filled for life.

Top tip - ensure the fill plug comes out before removing the drain plug.

That'll be down to the garage! No space for tools or working on it.

Also title is wrong should be t5 not TT good old phone autocorrect.

They may want you to provide the oil if their supplier says it's filled for life and doesn't list any.
Gets tricky then but it's fairly easy to identify it with a search or use someone like Opie oils.
