TT Ultra Road Noise

Apologies in advance for the lack of research but is excessive road noise a common feature of the mk3 TT?

I’ve just taken one out for a test drive and whilst it drove beautifully the road noise was far more intrusive than I had expected?

Now granted my impressions may be exaggerated as I came out of a Tesla which is super quiet

It was on 18’s, I didn’t check if they where run flats if that can make a significant difference?

I was I driving a 2017 S Line the other weekend and the road noise was really, really, bad.

When I changed to Goodyear F1 Asy's on mine i noticed an increase in road noise, but it wasn't significant before that. AFAIK they don't come with RFT's.
