Golf MK6 1.6tdi EGR Delete?

Just bought and its running fine (for now!)

Have heard the EGR is prone to failure...so considering EGR delete via ECU while getting a remap.

Anyone done this?...any issue?

Any reputable tuning company can do it - however a reputable tuning company will also require you to also remove and code out the DPF as the DPF needs the EGR to work correctly.

Removing the DPF is illegal and technically should also fail an MOT. However many places now gut the existing DPF and refit so it looks like it’s there, so it’s on your head.

Don’t know where you are based but Darkside Developments are one of the best known VW diesel tuners but aren’t the cheapest
