I've seen a 2018 A6 2.0TDI for sale at Arnold Clark in Stirling (VW dealer). It's done 32,000 miles

They've checked the service history on the VAG system and it has had 2 services - one at 2 years/20,000 miles and the second one at 3 years/30,000 miles. They said the can't check where the car was serviced or what type of service, only that it is on the system. Does this sound right? Ideally I'd like to know where and what type of service. Also, 2 years seems a long time for the first service....even if it is a flexible one

Any thoughts or comments gratefully received. I'd rather purchase from an Audi dealer re warranty etc, but this does seem like a good deal

Thanks

20,000 for the first service at 2 years is possible (just) with variable servicing, it’s usually 19,000 but I think Audi let you go 1,000 miles over. The 3 year service will be for a MOT but it should include brake fluid and a gear box service.

The trouble is there’s no physical service book now, it’s all electronic. I always keep receipts to prove what’s been done.

I had a 68 reg A6, it was a great motorway cruiser but the creaks and rattles were very irritating!

Assume it is thrashed ex rental many AC cars are.

Wouldn't deal with AC they tried to sell me an ex rental dog claiming it was 1 private owner fmdsh with proper branded tyres etc etc.

Turned out it was ex Enterprise with sketchy and missing servicing by on site technician lol and Matador tyres.

Beware.

If it’s the black one on their web site it says it ex fleet so potentially could have been thrashed.

I bought an ex hire car from Williams BMW in Manchester about 10 years ago, they told me it was an ex staff car. I only found out when the new V5 came through and the previous owner was a hire company. I had it for 3 years and never had a problem.

Previous owner was VAG finance so I’m guessing this is likely to be private owner on PCP.

I’ve found out that you can get most of service details from Audi on-line including brake fluid change, type of service, etc but needs Audi dealer to do it.

Sounds like I need to take care…..

VAG finance could be a lease, private, company or anything.

More likely to be ex lease.

Private owner on PCP should show said private owner as the registered keeper.

Treat every car as an individual, private cars get bashed as well as lease cars, and not all lease cars have been ragged like some will suggest.
