New car coming in the new year just wondered what the biggest spacers will fit
On standard wheels without rubbing in the wheel arches.

I run 10mm all round on standard wheels and plenty of room for more aggressive spacers - I'd say 15mm front, 20mm rear, But I like the 10mm ones - doesn't look like I am trying too hard.

Did you after get longer bolts for the spacers ?

The other one what is the length of the thread on the standard bolt ?

Standard VAG wheel bolts tend to be M14x1.5 and around 28mm long.

As a possibly over cautious B9 owner, haven’t even done a stage one remap!
Is there any handling/performance benefit to this modification or is it purely cosmetic?
And if there is a benefit. What affect does it have long term on the suspension components?

My car comes in April next year but I have been checking out different options for the car. Getting
A stage 1 remap you would be looking at 500 to 520 depending on the company doing it. Make sure
You do your homework before pulling the plug.
Regarding suspension all depends how the car is used with or without a remap.
