Seat Ibiza 2022 Model DSG issues
Discussion
Sounds as if you've ordered the car, then done some research on common issues with your drivetrain and would now like some reassurance.
I'm guessing it's either a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI, in which case it would be a DQ200 7-speed DSG 'box. Without wanting to give one of my cars the kiss of death, I've not personally had any mechanical issues during the ownership of two models with the DQ200 nor in driving plenty of other cars with it. They are now quite well developed and have been on the market for 13+ years.
On the downside, I've found the DQ200 to behave somewhat unpredictably at times and that it is better once warm. I've experienced some of the "characteristics" such as hard shift from 1st to 2nd, occasional judder and even stalling when shifting from D to N.
But - what else is there that's superior at this entry level price point? I think the VAG DSG and TSI drivetrain combination is a strong offering and noticeably more sophisticated than some of the alternatives. It's pretty smooth and the shifts are rapid and imperceptible.
I certainly wouldn't buy a manual in its place for our town car. In any case, you will presumably have a warranty?

Indeed. It's because I've had 3 people with dsg or have had issues however those cars were 2012,2013 and 2015. So just wondering what the new dsg's are like.
Yeah, 1.0 TSI 110. Yes, I've read that's it's the DQ200 gearbox and associated issues as it's a dry clutch rather than the preferred wet clutch. I'm hoping that the newer dsg's have been improved. I may get the DSG remapped as I've read that they are able to improve the durability of them.
This is my 1st automatic car and I've been driving manual since 2016.
