Audi TT battery disconnect
Discussion
There is no maybe...you absolutely must take off the battery terminals when you are working on an alternator.
Remove the negative terminal first. Reconnect the live first.
When reconnecting have your keys to hand as you will need to press the unlock button to reset the alarm.
Once alarm is off your immobilizer will be fine. At most you may have to lock/unlock the car again before starting the engine.
On your vr6 you also need a bolt to wind into the idler pulley to release the belt, M8 thread with a 10mm nut
