2018 Audi SQ5 unlocked with remote and started first time after one weeks non use but thereafter the remote keys and vehicle do not communicate. The car does start using the emergency process but nothing happens when using the remote otherwise.

Locking and unlocking requires the emergency key.

Batteries changed in both remotes without success and in desperation the car battery has been fully charged.

Google shows tricks and fixes but they are all for older vehicles.

Any ideas guys ?

this happened to me on my TT, Googling suggests it is fairly common. I think i followed the advice on this thread and it worked:

Thanks Deckert.

The processes on that link are similar to ones I’d found but I’ve followed them just now, still without success.

All those tricks seem to be for models with keys inserted rather than the modern keyless ones. However I can switch on the ignition only, by placing the remote against the contact point and going through these procedures but this still doesn’t fix it.

I’m beginning to think the new batteries are duff but that seems very unlikely.

That link is for keyless, where there is a convenience key inside the fob. Is there anything in the Owner's manual? How about this link

I’m maybe reading these differently but they all say ‘key in ignition’ as far as I can see.

I have tried the processes using one fob against the ‘secret’ point within the car and with the ignition on and using the other emergency key in the lock. All to no avail.
