Oil level increasing and Increased adblue consumption
Discussion
Hoping someone on here will be able to help me with were weI go next on this issue.
Mid 2020 my Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI (91k) started to produce an ‘please reduce oil level’ warning, which we did and have had to do at least 4 more times since. Performance wise it’s running great but I don’t want to risk any further dilution of the oils good properties and damage the engine. Additionally it has started consuming adblue at a rapid rate 10ltrs for 2k miles (previously it was using 10ltr for 5k miles).
The car has been serviced by Audi, the oil sensor has been changed, we’ve performed an injector and their seals have been leak tested but nothing has sorted or identified the issue yet.
Anyone with any ideas on what to look for / do next, I’d love to hear them

I'd be suspicious of a dpf system failure.
Get a check of the soot load in the dpf system, and the results of the regen cycles.
A DPF can be cleaned if blocked, eg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uUGWJQgImQ

Thanks
Apparently it had a reading of 0.35 (it might of been 0.035 (memory of a fish) I’m assuming that was to do with the dpf, they said it was a low reading) and they could see that it had regen’d recently.
Do you do regular motorway trips or is it all stop-start town/rural driving? "Failed" or interrupted regens due to driving 'style' can lead to higher "oil" levels. When was it last serviced, and how much oil have you removed from the engine since then? (Also, how???)
It’s used every other day / 3rd day for mixed purpose, some town stop/start, mainly rural running around (nothings near by so it always gets up to temp) and dual carriageways for the work commute is 22miles each ways and motorways for hobbies, 50miles each way trips.
Serviced in August and it’s been an Audi tech each time that has reduce the oil level, presumable by vacuuming some out? They never said how much they’ve taken out and it’s never registered as a change on the digital display (well the warning goes away). I’ve been checking with a dip stick (0-30 with a 99 set point) and that changes from 15 down to 10 when the oil is removed. I think the tech said there readings equated to 0.25l for 2 markers, so maybe 0.5l has been removed?
Wouldn’t the diagnostic reading have been higher if the regens had failed?
Would failed regen’s also cause an increase in the ad-blue consumption?
Many thank

What did Audi do to rectify?
No dashboard faults have come up for this (apart from the oil level and adblue top ups). I can get the adblue injector cleaned but that won’t stop / fix the increasing oil issue, also isn’t it possible that the car will be using more adblue owing to the oil issue?

No idea what happened, we had serviced and mot’d the car and the customer had asked us to look at the adblue issue, there were a couple of faults stored and all pointed to something expensive, we didn’t want to get involved so sent the owner to Audi. That was a 3.0 A5 same age, similar mileage.
We have had 4 in recently with adblue issues, each one we have sent to the main dealer I think there is a chance adblue could become an issue on older euro 6 cars.
