Just bought a new to me 2018 Q7.

Anyone ever had a car where the heated seat button stays on and comes on the following day?

In all of my past cars you can get out having had the heated seats on, and then if you come back to car next morning the heated seat button is off.

In the Audi if you have heated seats on and come back next day they are on again, as though the button remains pressed in...

Never come across it before and seems weird. When I set off to work on a morning my wife’s heated seat comes on again from day before and it’s annoying me. Anyone else had this before? Is it a normal Audi trait?

My 2008 s5 does the same. You set it 0(off) to 6 and turn the car off and it remembers the setting for the next time you get in and start it.

Thanks deebs. Very annoying but at least now I know it’s an Audi trait.

historically you've always been able to code it the other way, i.e so that the car remembered if you had the heaters on and would resume after a restart at the previous setting. Without being any great authority on the matter i wonder if you can do the reverse?

My S4 retains the memory on the driver's seat but not on the passengers which always switches off, I assume this is the standard setup?

To add, I believe it also 'remembers' based on which key was used along with seat position, ACC and music settings...

Mine retains memory on passenger seat too. Annoying as it warms my lunch on way to work if wife has been in day before and I forget to switch off.

Need to test rear heated seats as don’t want kids putting them on and then them staying on for next 6 months until I realise...

I quite liked that feature in Audi. I didn't share it with anyone, so no complaints about heated seats being on in the morning.

Mrs geeks Focus does this as did my old A4, her old CX5 and my old Frontera so it isnt just an Audi thing but certainly an Audi, Ford, Mazda and Vauxhall thing
