Tyres for MK1 Skoda Fabia VRS

Dipping in here on behalf of my son. He has a Fabia VRS which uses 205/45 x 16 tyres. Tyres in this size seem quite expensive but he needs a new pair for the front. Car is tuned and making 200bhp plus and the existing cheapo tyres have not lasted long. Looking for recommendations for a decent tyre thats not too expensive but good in the wet.

I remember trying to save a few quid on Tyres.
I also remember spinning my car on a damp road. That was in a chipped Vectra.
I was very lucky to cause no damage, not even touch a curb.
Now I have 300+ bhp I fit PS4's.
It's just not worth it for 20 or 30 quid a corner extra.
Someone will come and tell you different soon I suppose!
