Hi all, long time lurker, but this is the the first time I've posted, I need help...

I had the AFS error come up on the dash on Sunday afternoon, car is a 2016 Golf GTI, I've changed the bulbs (Philips WhiteVision ultra H7) and its made no difference at all.

So, here's where I'm at....

- The nearside headlight is very wet inside, lots of condensation, as in full on big drops of water on the inside of the cover, it's not just a bit of light misting. I know this is acceptable to a degree but pretty sure this is excessive, and its only been an issue for the last week or two.
- The nearside cornering light stays on all the time. Offside never works despite being a new good bulb.
- The headlights don't auto level when you start the engine and were pointing very low and a little bossed eyed.
- Today for the first time the error cleared itself and they levelled up to a more normal angle, but then the error came back a few seconds later, thankfully the lights stayed at a decent level and not too low.

Before I book it into VW anything else I should check/try? Fuses?

I'm assume its something to do with the water ingress and I'm expecting a sensor or maybe even a new headlight?

I have a cheap OBD scanner and used ELM Car Scanner to read the codes, output below (I don't really know what I'm looking at) but I do see references to the headlights, I'm assuming they mean its going to be expensive! Although I've only had it for 3 months and it was VW approved used from a dealer, so I wonder if it would be covered under the warranty?

Any advise would be great, thanks.

I'd just take it back to the dealer.
VW approved used had at least 1 year warranty, currently it's 2 years.

I'd keep quiet about your debug and bulb swapping.

Hi, I intended to, just curious what other think. I'm waiting for a call back front the local VW dealer as the one I bought it from isn't so local.
Just typical it happens when the clocks go back and when I'm so very busy at work.

The last one we had in needed a new headlight, the module under the headlight and coding, if the bumper comes off and its got the adaptive cruise hidden behind the badge then the camera will need calibrating, budget £1000.

It's a 7 not 7.5 so the radar is below the number plate. smile

Got a call yesterday, they are in the process of replacing the nearside headlight and both control units for the headlights, all fully under warranty.

Fingers crossed I can pick it up tomorrow!

That’s good news, it does seem to be very common
