Anyone had an issue with the fairly rapid wear of front tyres on this car ?

Its not exactly a performance car(lol) ,would have thought they should last at least 20K miles.
Only done 12K.

They are Bridgestone 005's.

All depends how and where you are driving. 20k motorway miles is different to 20k round town.

That’ll be it then. Apart from avoiding turns of the steering while stationary and keeping the pressures and tracking correct, not much you can do about it. Power steering kills tyres, even on the lighter cars, if the car isn’t moving.

I remember years ago I got a Golf GTTDI from enterprise through work. The car had done 8k and the Bridgestone Turanzas were not far off the wear bars (had 3mm at best).

So yeah they aren’t hard wearing at all.

However I later bought a golf GTD that the dealer put 4 new Potenza S001s when I bought it and the fronts did 20k

I have an Octavia that is a private hire taxi. Mostly city driving and decent branded tyres are only good for about 10-15k.

Just checked our 2019 Scala; it’s still on the original Nexen tyres having covered 20k, and I would say there is about 5k left on the fronts before they reach the limit blob.

I’ve been really impressed with the car; we bought it at 6 months old with 4k on it (ex-demo) and apart from the seriously annoying lane detect “feature”, which you have to turn off at the start of each trip, it’s been perfect - nice to drive, smooth and solid.
